DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting Lego Derby at our November Pack Meeting! Scouts\, parents\, and siblings are invited to showcase their creativity and engineering skills by building their own Lego derby cars at home and bringing them to the event. We’ll see you on November 21st at 7:00 PM for a night of friendly competition and STEM fun! \nLego Derby Rules and Car Specifications: \n• Materials: Cars must be built entirely from Lego-style bricks (any compatible brand is fine). \n• Dimensions: Maximum width of 6 dots (plus wheels)\, length of 12 inches\, and a ground clearance of ⅜ inch. \n• Chassis: Using a Lego car chassis is not required but is highly recommended to help your car travel smoothly down our track. These can be purchased online. \nThis event encourages creativity\, problem-solving\, and engineering as Scouts design and build their own vehicles. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n  \nPrepare your Cub Scout for an electrifying “Let it Glow” weekend\, where the night comes alive with glow-in-the-dark games and activities for scouts and leaders. This unique event\, hosted by the Alamo Area Council at the McGimsey Scout Park\, promises and adventure like no other. Experience skill-building and friendship under a canopy of stars\, with every activity shining bring in the theme of “Let it Glow.” \nWith this registration\, participants will receive a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt to wear during our nighttime activities Saturday night. All meals are included in registration. Registration fees go to 2 meals (Saturday dinner and Sunday Breakfast)\, a night snack\, t-shirt\, and program supplies. \nUnits will come in around 1pm\, set up their campsites\, and then the fun begins around 3:00pm. SUMMARY:Pack 501 Night at the Zoo
DESCRIPTION:Experience the zoo after dark on June 21st\, 2025! Join zoo experts for a private tour and discover which animals are getting ready for bed and which animals are just waking up. During the evening\, guests will explore the zoo on a guided night hike\, meet animal ambassadors\, and join in fun zoo-themed activities. Bring your sleeping bag for indoor\, climate-controlled\, camping and wake refreshed and ready for a taco breakfast. \nAfter the program ends\, you are welcome to continue your zoo adventure on your own for the remainder of the day. \nTickets are $82.50 per person and include admission\, programming\, pizza dinner\, evening snack\, taco breakfast\, and sleeping accommodations at the zoo. Pricing also includes processing fees. \nRegistration is now closed. \nWhat to bring \n\nPillow and sleeping bag or blanket\nAir mattress or sleeping pad\nComfortable walking shoes\nBasic toiletry items (showers are not available)\nChange of clothes for sleeping and the next day\n\nOptional items\n\nCamera\, reusable water bottle\, wagon\, cart or rolling suitcase to transport belongings. \nDo not bring \nTablets\, music\, video games\, other electronics\, food or drink\, weapons. \nArrival \nPlease arrive at 6pm on Saturday\, June 21st. \nParking \nWhen you arrive\, please go to the Education Center (to the right of Kiddie Park) to drop off belongings and wait for parking directions from zoo staff (about 6:15pm).
